Vet Update :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that the trip to the vet for the neuter's and microchips went well yesterday.  All the puppies are back home, and haven't missed a beat!!  They are so playful, and love attention.  They will be ready for all of the holiday love and cuddles from their new families.  They are getting used to being outside several times a day, and like the snow.  They are even mastering the two steps up and down from the deck!!  I will be working on some pictures before their final departures.  We are so happy for them to have such special forever homes.......but so sad that our time with them is almost finished.  We hope that you will all keep in touch, send pictures and even visit if possible.

Puppy #4 and Izzee ride in style......

Dog's Rules For Christmas

1. Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they will appreciate long comforting dog cuddles.

2. They may come home with large bags of things they call gifts. Do not assume that all the gifts are yours.

3. Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with fake antlers.

4. They may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as this may seem to you, it is an important ritual for your humans, so there are some things you need to know: Don't pee on the tree... Don't drink water in the container that holds the tree... Mind your tail when you are near the tree... If there are packages under the tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your name on them, don't rip them open... And Don't chew on the cord that runs from the funny-looking hole in the wall to the tree.

5. Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come visit during this season. These parties can be lots of fun, but they also call for some discretion on your part: Not all strangers appreciate kisses and cleans. Don't eat off the buffet table. Beg for goodies subtly. Be pleasant, even if unknowing strangers sit on your spot on the sofa -- they don't know any better. Don't drink out of glasses that are left within your reach unless you can get away with it...

6. Likewise, your humans may take you visiting. Here your manners will also be important: Observe all the rules in #4 for trees that may be in other people's houses. (4a is particularly important) Respect the territory of other animals that may live in the house. Be nice to the kiddies. Turn on your charm big time.

7. A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night. DO NOT BITE HIM!!!

7 Weeks Old!!!

Wow!!  The puppies are already 7 weeks old, and soon they will be ready to go home.  I can't believe how quickly the time has passed.  Everybody is good here.  First vet checks and vaccines went well on Monday :)  The puppies were excited to see how big the world is, and travelled well in the crate.  Since then they have been making several trips a day outside.  I have tried to get some photos; but they rarely stand still long enough!!  Puppy one had a good outside shot which I will post here.  Check out the muddy feet!!  They love to go under the deck and let Hilo chase them out.  We put up the Christmas tree, and the puppies love to chew at the branches and jump at the ornaments......Something to look forward to very soon!!  They are starting to know the word "no", and try to look even cuter than usual when they hear it.  Enjoy the new photos.  I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the Christmas season :)

Puppy visits :)

Thanks to those who came to visit this weekend!!  We enjoyed meeting you, and hope you had a good time playing with the puppies :)  My father-in -law is a photographer, and I got a lesson tonight as I have always admired pet pictures with a solid white background.  It is tricky......but I got a few good ones.  It is going to take me a while to get them all done!!  The equipment has to co-operate at the same time as the puppies.....lol!!

Almost a month old

The puppies are almost a month old and are really starting to be lively!!  They can see and hear and are making their way around the pen.  They still spend a lot of time sleeping and nursing......but when they are awake they love to make a lot of noise :)  We can't believe how fast they are growing!!  Here are some pictures taken today.  All the puppies are males except our little girl - Puppy two.

There is still space available from this litter. If you have questions, or are interested in adding your name to the list; contact Tammie.

Kona's calendar........and the (almost) 3 week puppies :)

I wanted to mention Kona's recent fame as he has been out of the limelight the past while :)  One of his pictures was selected for a Doodle 2012 calendar!!  The picture was submitted through the "Doodle Kisses" calendar photo contest.......and Kona's pirate Halloween pose makes him the new "Mr. March"!
The "Doodle Kisses" website is lots of fun, and a great way to chat and connect with other doodle owners from all over...... http://www.doodlekisses.com/

There are four different calendars available; with 25% of the proceeds donated to doodle and dog rescue.  They can be purchased at this site..... http://www.cafepress.com/doodlekisses/8209211

OK.....
Here are some photos of the puppies who will be three weeks old on Thursday.  They are growing fast, and beginning to move around and make noise!!  After sleeping beside the whelping box since the puppies were born.....lastnight I finally moved back upstairs to my room :)  Hilo is doing a great job being a mom, but is enjoying some breaks away from the pen when the babies are asleep.  She likes to stretch out fully on the floor and take a rest.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.......
