The cute never ends!

I was taking some pictures tonight in the whelping box and got some that I wanted to share with you.  I have heard from several of you and wanted to say thanks for the compliments on the pictures :))  My father-in-law is a photographer; so over the years I have been fortunate enough to have picked up lots of "tips" and even a few lessons.  I use a digital SLR camera (Sony A200) with a regular lens - which I got using AirMiles.  I have a telephoto lens as well; however it is most useful taking pictures of the puppies while they play in the yard.  If you have looked back on the blog at some of the older posts......I'm sure you have noticed the puppy pictures with the plain "all white" background.  Those are taken by putting the puppies inside a "white box" and using a couple of different types of flashes.  I love taking them....and they are a great way to see the puppies true color.  A couple people have asked me about the fleece colors, and whether they will change.  The puppies are born in "apricot" and "red" with all kinds of shades and variations from light to dark.  As I mentioned before.....some have more black pigment than others - which is evident when you look at the color of their noses.  Often the puppies fleece will get darker as they get older; and some dogs coat color changes slightly from winter to summer as well......(likely because of the increased exposure to sunlight).  Hilo started out a medium apricot, and went to a fairly dark shade of red.  Over the years she has lightened; however she still had a beautiful lustre, and looks like crushed velvet after a haircut :))
Tonight I was using a small dog bed to take some of the pictures....and Hilo came over and laid her head on it like a pillow.  Myna squirmed over and fell asleep, and I got this really cute picture of them....

Here are a few other good ones.  I really hope you like them.  I take tons of pictures.....so I will just keep posting :))  I hope everyone keeps in touch!  Have a great weekend.

An important note to all our puppy families......

Please do not try to print any of the pictures from the blog....or the ones I have been e-mailing.  They are sized to show up properly on your computer screen and will not come out good quality.  Once you know which puppy you will be bringing home.....I am happy to e-mail you photos - or put them on a disc so that they are the "large size" which can be made into prints for an album or frame :))
